"Training in a Box" by Texas PTA to prepare Treasurers to fulfill their jobs, with a special emphasis on the financial changes unveiled at Summer Seminar affecting this academic year.

The free PTA websites available through the PTA Network are so easy to use that no training is really necessary to set one up. However, attending this training will give you a running start! In one hour you’ll get to use every tool on your site and leave with your site customized and configured. Hands-on training given in the computer lab. The second session is an Advanced Class (sign up for both!)

Leader Orientation Training "Train the Trainer" Course

Leader Orientation Trainer's Course, November 10, 10am-2pm ($15)

This course is designed to certify PTA leaders to teach the Texas PTA Leader Orientation Course. Your Area PTA president’s approval is required in order to be able to take the course.

Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the course will be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The cost is $15.00 payable to Texas PTA for the course and materials. A box (sandwich) lunch and drink will be provided for an additional $7.00 per person. Payments for the lunch must be made separately to Pam Becknal.

Please RSVP no later than Wednesday, October 31 by sending the registration form with your $15.00 payment.

Keep Carrollton Beautiful's Texas Recycles Day, November 10, 9am-1pm

Divert tons of recyclables from the landfill:

·         Usable and not working computers, electronics, stereos, fax machines, printers

·         Car tires, car batteries

·         Cell phones (Keep Carrollton Beautiful, all year long)

·         Eye glasses and accessories

·         Durable medical equipment – braces, crutches, canes, chairs, beds

·         Gently used clothes for children and adults

·         Used athletic shoes for refurbishing or reuse

·         White metal (appliances without Freon), scrap metal, etc.
