The
Seventh Gently Used Book Sale is a book lover's paradise that
provides all types of books at great prices. You will find all the
books are organized by category and even author. Over 100,000 items
are expected at the sale. All items are donated by the Dallas-Fort
Worth area community.
Most items are "gently used," but some books are new.
Coordinated by the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Council PTA and
Educational Foundation, the Gently Used Book Sale not only raises
funds for the two non-profit organizations, but it also provides all
types of books at great prices.

The
sale will also include items that will be specially marked due to
their value.
Products available for sale are primarily hardback and paperback
books in the following areas:
* Children's books
(fiction, non-fiction)
* Adult books (fiction,
non-fiction)
* Cookbooks
* Current reference
books
Donors also provide
other such items as original videotapes, original CDs, original
DVDs, and audio book (Cassettes, CDs). These will be individually
priced.
The event's revenues raise funds for the Carrollton-Farmers Branch
ISD Educational Foundation grants and scholarships and Council of
PTAs projects, including grants to the High School Post Proms,
Clothes Closet, and Multi-cultural projects. |

This program
was developed by the Texas Attorney General’s Office and is offered
through the Lake Dallas Police Department.
Parents will
learn:
* The various ways predators
manipulate youth via the internet
* The ease in which predators lure
youth, out of their homes, through
chatting online
* Methods predators use to track
online member files
* Information about file sharing
programs such as Lime Wire
* Resources such as the latest security software for computers
This program is the result of the collaborative efforts of officers
from numerous federal agencies such as The Secret Service and ICAC-Internet
Crimes Against Children. |
