Lewisville Council PTA 5th Annual Bowling for Scholars

Start looking for your
bowling shoes & ball. Lewisville Council is holding its 5th
Annual Bowling for Scholars Tournament on Saturday, January 26.
We have three different time slots and a Junior Bowler Division (ages
6 – 12).
This is a
scholarship fundraiser for LISD Council of PTAs and we need your help
to keep the successful tradition going! Each year the Council awards
two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors at each of the five LISD
high schools.
Registration fees are $25 per adult/$20 junior with 4-person teams.
This includes 3 games, shoe rental, and a Bowling for Scholars
t-shirt. Three shifts of games will be available: 9 - 11 am; 11:30am
- 1:30 pm & 2 - 4 pm.
Trophies will be awarded to the top teams, as well as other prizes
including best team name and worst team score. The deadline to submit
teams is January 18. Click

Escape
School is a program that teaches children:
* how to differentiate between good and bad strangers
* the common lures abductors use
* how to get away
* how to find help when needed
All taught with demonstrations for
highly effective techniques for escaping dangerous situations. This
program has been featured on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” “Good Morning
America,” “America’s Most Wanted,” “The View,” and in “Parents”
magazine.

Carrollton-Farmers Branch Council PTA Annual “Gently Used
Book Sale”

The Seventh Gently Used
Book Sale is a book lover's paradise that provides all types of books
at great prices. You will find all the books are organized by category
and even author. Over 100,000 items are expected at the sale. All
items are donated by the Dallas-Fort Worth area community.
Most items are "gently
used," but some books are new.
Coordinated by the
Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Council PTA and Educational Foundation,
the Gently Used Book Sale not only raises funds for the two non-profit
organizations, but it also provides all types of books at great
prices.

their value.
Products available for sale are primarily hardback and paperback books
in the following areas:

books (fiction, non-fiction)
* Adult books
(fiction, non-fiction)
* Cookbooks
* Current
reference books
Donors also provide other
such items as original videotapes, original CDs, original DVDs, and
audio book (Cassettes, CDs). These will be individually priced.
The event's revenues raise
funds for the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Educational Foundation
grants and scholarships and Council of PTAs projects, including grants
to the High School Post Proms, Clothes Closet, and Multi-cultural
projects. |
